My name is Scott Harper and I drive for Team Coyote Racing in the GASCAR Nitro Pan Series.
Team Coyote was founded by Tim Smith of Birmingham, Alabama. Tim has been making Nitro-Pan cars longer than anyone else in the country that I know of anyway. I drove one of his very first cars probably 15 or more years ago.
This is my second season running in the GASCAR series for Team Coyote. As a TEAM we have made various improvements in the car to make it more and more competitive.
The 2008 version of the COYOTE Nitro Pan car has really evolved into a car that has plenty of adjustment for a variety of track conditions without becoming so overly complicated that you get caught up in all the "gadgets". This car is also unique in its rear pod design. It is a 3-Shock car but unlike any other out there on the market. Take a look at the rear pod and you will notice that the SIDE SHOCKS or mounted vertical and not horizontal. This is not the only unique feature of the COYOTE. Take another look and you will notice no traditional body mounts. This car actual has 7, yes SEVEN body attachment points. One on the nose of the front bumper, one in the middle of the hood, one in the center of the roof and two down each side. We feel that by giving the body this much stability in the mounting to the chassis we are able to take better advantage of the aerodynamic qualities of today's bodies.
Team COYOTE is not sitting still, we cannot afford to. There is a level of competition in Nitro-Pan just like in electric racing. We already have changes on the drawing board for the 2009 chassis.
